Help give shelter dogs a second chance
Donation protected
Hello! If you’re reading this, chances are you found this fundraiser online and you’re wondering what this fundraiser is for. Well, lucky for you, I’m here to explain!
My sister Juliet and her husband Mark married in January of 2019. Prior to getting married, they lived in Dallas, TX, where they privately trained Police K9s and USCG Search and Rescue Dogs. They dabbled in Border Patrol K9s as well. In March of 2019, they moved to Moorpark, CA, where they continued their journey. They purchased 2 imported Giant Schnauzers who they competed with, titled, and then eventually bred. They carried on that bloodline and they still have those 2 dogs and multiple offspring from that pair.
Roughly 2 years ago, the two of them decided to pack up shop and move to Nashville, TN, and begin a new chapter in their life. Within the past 10 months to a year, my sister has brought up the possibility of filing for a 501(c)3 and pulling working dogs from shelters who are in good enough health to see a vet and then be trained. After speaking with Mark they decided to go for it. They would be training the dogs for service work, protection work, agility, search and rescue, etc.
However, they quickly realized after thinking it through, that they need a separate property for these dogs. So, they purchased a property northeast of Nashville with 9.2 acres of land, a barn, 3 pole barns, and a 5-bedroom, 4-bath house on the property. There will be 5 trainers on the property at all times who will live there and be there to give the dogs round-the-clock care. They currently have room for 35 dogs and are working on getting permits to build another pole barn and possibly add on a 2,500 sq ft addition to our house in order to make space for 2 more bedrooms, a bathroom, and another equipment room.
In total, they need about $230,000 to get the property up to our standards to begin welcoming in dogs. Between the 2 of them and the family chipping in, they are taking care of $200,000 of the cost and we are now asking YOUR help for the rest.
We of course don’t ask everyone who reads this to donate and we most definitely don’t expect that. However, if you are in a position financially to donate even $5, it will go a long way!
Juliet has been selling spare training and grooming equipment as well to help pay for the costs, so if you’re reading this and you’ve purchased an item, we greatly appreciate your support!
Thank you to anyone who has taken the time out of their day or night to read this. We look forward to seeing the community come together to help shelter dogs in need become high-class working dogs.
