Help Gladys Study Abroad in Italy

Hi, my name is Gladys. I am a kinesiology major at the University of North Texas studying pre-physical therapy. I am currently studying to become a physical therapist! I am one of the 9 selected students selected to represent UNT as an Emerald Eagle Scholar in Florence, Italy!

As a first-generation student who identifies as Ecuadorian/Mexican-American, I always thought traveling across the country and learning about new cultures is essential to growth as an individual. However, it seemed very costly and out of reach at the moment for me. But through this program, I am finally able to do just that!

During the 5 weeks in Italy, I will be taking a course in SRISA on the Italian language and culture. Although my expenses for studying abroad are covered by the scholarship program, it does not mean that my expenses back home are covered as well. These funds would go directly to

Monthly rent back home ($600)

My application fees for applying to Doctorate of Physical Therapy Programs this summer! (PT school) ($1000)

Traveling expenses (meals, transportation, excursions such as museum fees) during my 5 weeks in Italy! ($400)
