Help Goldfinches Finish Their Debut Album
Donation protected
Having recorded 15 tracks for their debut album Shanti Time on a shoestring budget in Devon, Bristol group Goldfinches are now asking for your support to help fund the final production of this wonderful set of narrative songs by singer/songwriter Shaun McCrindle. The Shanti Time recordings were made in Trobridge house, Crediton, using the unique acoustics of the 16th-century building to create a warm, full-bodied, natural sound that brings the songs to life. So far, Goldfinches have been able to fund the project, pulling together our resources and benefitting from the generosity of the owners who allowed us to transform their historic home into a temporary recording studio. We now need your help to raise £2500 to complete the album in a professional studio. To this end, we are lined up to work with composer and producer Jay Auborn, at dBs Pro in Bristol. Jay collaborated with Shaun McCrindle on two previous albums which explored capturing his songwriting in unique acoustic spaces.
Goldfinches is a collective of West country musicians, focused around Shaun McCrindle (vocals/guitar), John Slattery (guitar/bouzouki) and James Anderson (double bass). For this project, they have been joined by Paul Meager (fiddle), Tony Plato (drums/percussion), Freddie Bullough (backing vocals) and Paul Bateman (sound engineering).
