Help Goma rebuild after volcano

Donation protected
I'm raising money to assist with the relief efforts related to the ongoing crisis after the Nyiragongo Volcano erupted on Saturday 5/22 without warning.  Goma is a beautiful lakeside town just on the outskirts of the Virunga National Park, home to about 1.5 million people in Eastern Congo, and the place where I lived and worked from 2013 to 2020.  While the initial lava flow stopped short of the city center, hundreds of earthquakes have rocked the area, the death toll is estimated at about 35 so far, and the eruption destroyed essential water, electricity and road infrastructure for the city.  The volcano continues to threaten further activity, which prompted the evacuation of about 400,000 people on Thursday 5/27 including many of my friends and former colleagues.    This money will support families and projects that I'm able to identify through my network, and serve to reinforce the incredible resilience of the people in Goma who continue to persevere in the face of so much adversity.
