Help Goose Get the Care He Needs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Melissa Schell, and I’m reaching out to you today on behalf of my beloved cat, Goose. Goose has been a constant source of joy, comfort, love, and cuddles in my life, and right now, he needs your help.
Unfortunately, Goose is suffering from a severely painful hip issue. The femoral bone in his right hind leg has become malformed, and the bone has deteriorated, causing him great discomfort. He needs urgent veterinary care, including surgery, to relieve the pain and give him a chance at recovery. The vet visits and surgical costs have been overwhelming, and I’m hoping to raise enough funds to cover these medical expenses.
Goose is not just a pet to me; he is family. He is my emotional support, my cuddler, and I love him with all my heart. Goose is especially meaningful to me because he’s named after my son, who passed away in 2018. I got Goose for my first cat, Prisha, after she tragically lost her entire litter just a few weeks before I adopted her. Her story of loss mirrors mine, which is why I adopted her. Prisha was lonely, and Goose bonded with her almost immediately. Together, they’ve been a source of joy in my life.
I am disabled and have been a full-time student for the past three years, with plans to start my Graduate degree in March 2025. Between my own health challenges and academic commitments, the costs for Goose’s medical treatment have been difficult to manage. The total cost of his treatment is expected to be around $2,000, which includes consultation fees, surgery, medications, and follow-up care. Goose will only be 2yo in March.
Any amount you can contribute will make a huge difference and will go directly toward Goose’s recovery. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping us during this difficult time. Your support means more than words can express.
With love and gratitude,
Melissa Schell

Update: Surgery is scheduled for Thursday 2/20 & reduced goal as surgery will be a bit less. Surgery location is 111 miles from our home so I included toll tag fees & 3 tanks of gas for multiple trips. Anything over will go to previous vet bills & Saving Hope Rescue!
