Help Gordon through his battle with Cancer

Hi, my name is Natalie, and I, along with a group of Gordy’s friends, are posting this “GoFundme” page hoping that you will support our initiative in helping Gordy through another challenge he, his wife Catherine and their daughter, Jessica are currently facing. I met Gordy over 25 years ago; when he arrived in Australia, he was/is my husband Wayne's childhood friend (BFF).

The Background

Gordy was born in Wales. A proud Welshman that has made Australia his home. He has resided in Australia for many years where he worked tirelessly. Gordy met Catherine, they married and soon saw the arrival of their daughter Jessica 17 years ago.

Previously Gordy was diagnosed with bowel cancer. After a lengthy battle, including chemotherapy, Gordy’s strong will to overcome shone through, and he was given the all-clear, but not without permanent medical issues. He was again then diagnosed with lung cancer and repeated the same battle.

Today

Regrettably, cancer returned in mid-2021. This time with a vengeance, in a precarious spot and aggressive. Risky and lengthy surgery was undertaken in November 2021 to remove the offending growth, but this resulted in partial paralysis and left Gordy in a lot of pain. Simply walking is now a huge challenge for him to overcome, not to mention the stress it has placed on Gordy and his family. Six months of chemotherapy will soon commence again to try and rid Gordy of any remaining cancerous cells.

Now, to further add to Gordy and the families worries, Gordy is not able to work, the insurance company has declined cover, and Catherine has recently lost her job. But like us all, the medical and personal bills do not stop coming.

Gordy is a fun-loving, hardworking, loyal, and proud man, someone who has never put his hand out for charity, but even the proudest of people need a helping hand from time to time. To that end, I respectfully implore upon you to help Gordy, Catherine and Jessica out with a financial contribution, no matter the value, to see them through this terrible chapter in their lives.

I, along with Gordy’s family and friends in Wales and Australia, his many friends across the globe and work colleagues, are all focused on getting Gordy back to good health. To that end, I once again respectfully ask for your help to assist Gordy and his family through the next trying few months.
