Help Grace Bailey battle Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

My name is Eric Bailey, and I am raising funds for my granddaughter, seven year old Grace Bailey's medical expenses, and mother and father's expenses from travel back and to Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo, ND, and to pay for their extended stays at The Ronald McDonald House, and to cover their meals and any incidental expenses.

Erin and Maria Bailey are a hardworking couple. Maria is the primary wage earner, while Erin spends much of his time cooking, cleaning, and caring for their 3 children. Especially during the summer, his days are full, and challenging at times. Maria works hard to fill her roles as breadwinner and mother.

Grace wasn't feeling well, so Erin set up an appointment for Grace to see her family doctor. On Thursday, October 20, 2022, she went to the family doctor, who ordered some blood work, and when he saw the results, immediately called Sanford Children's Hospital, who got a room ready for her. Within hours Grace and her parents were up there, where she was admitted and began a battery of tests, including a bone marrow biopsy, which confirmed the diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. They decided to start her chemotherapy the next day, which requires one of them to remain with her during her bouts with chemotherapy to keep her spirits up.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia is usually diagnosed in older adults, but occasionally attacks children as well. It is a serious disease, and must be fought with serious medication, and may require bone marrow transplantation, radiation, and several bouts of chemotherapy to subdue it.
