Help Graham fight to survive life support

Graham is in a medically induced coma and has been on life support in the ICU since Sunday 11th April.
On Sunday Graham, only 52 years old, was in the passenger seat of the family car with his wife Michelle driving and their 2 teenage girls in the back seats, when he stopped breathing. Fortunately, they were close to Robina hospital and with the girls holding his head up and mum driving like the wind they made it to the A&E department where quick work by the team there managed to save his life – but the situation is far from good.

The doctors have found the problem that caused his heart to stop just yesterday but his lungs are badly affected, his blood is still being oxygenated/cleaned externally and it’s unclear how his brain function will have been affected by the ordeal. He remains in a coma whilst he recovers further and the doctors have explained it is very serious and Graham has a lot of hard work ahead of him for recovery. We are hoping and praying that he makes a full recovery but either way the road back will be hard and for now the family need all the help they can get.
Graham is a wonderful loving husband and father and his adoring girls, our sister Michelle and their 2 daughters Amy and Annie are obviously devastated and are by his side.

The funds will firstly help the family with everyday bills as Michelle has recently gone casual so does not make any money if not working. She is obviously by his side and will continue to be until the end no matter when that is. They have the normal bills everyone does with a home mortgage, car expenses, 2 teenage girls, household expenses and so on. Even with the best outcome Graham’s recovery process will be long and hard and he will not be able to work for some time. In the worst case scenario the funds will be even more gratefully received.

A little about Graham; the man, the husband, the father, the brother-in-law, the uncle, the work colleague and the friend. Graham grew up in a small English town in Honley, Huddersfield in the county of Yorkshire. He has a great bunch of mates in England that he misses immensely, as he moved to Australia with our sister Michelle over 20 years ago. He has worked hard all his life in the carpet manufacturing game and has worked for Beaulieu on the Gold Coast for over 10 years now as a supervisor of the backing line. He became an Australian citizen 12 years ago and is very proud of his family.
Graham is a man of few words but when he does speak he will have himself and everyone around him in fits of laughter. The family only just posted a picture of this t-shirt on fb last week saying it reminded us of Graham as it is him to a tee (no pun intended).

Everyone who knows him would describe Graham as loving a great laugh and a practical joke. When the family get together he has been known to crank up the karaoke machine and belt out some tunes. He loves the oldies like Tom Jones so those tunes are among his favourites. He loves a good beer and has had to change his tastes as Australian beer is not quite the same as English beer. It's been a journey to find the beer he loves.
