Help Grandma Bolton continue to receive 24-7 care

Hello, my name is Cody Bolton. My twin sister, Cara, and I are asking for donations for our grandmother. She is almost 87 years young and has advanced-stage dementia. She has had to have 24/7 care for over 4 years now. 2017-2019 and 2021-2022 I helped take care of her.

Dementia has slowly robbed her ability to do anything for herself. She was once a very active and independent woman who had to become dependent on others for all of her care: To stand, eat, brush her teeth, shower, and everything else we take for granted every day. She cannot walk or feed herself. Unfortunately with the amount of care she needs, she has exhausted her insurance and other means to help pay for caregivers, and the family can no longer continue to help financially.

We are asking for support to be able to continue to provide all the care that she needs. Currently, her two sons, Clay and Bill, care for her and take 5-day shifts. (So exhausting!) Increased costs in food, medicine, propane, (she lives in the country), and gasoline to travel has been extremely hard. She has always been the family rock, even when Grandpa Bolton passed away back in 2006. (Oh how much we still miss him!) She would always hold the family holiday dinners (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas) and always made sure we all had plenty to eat. Her hospitality was inspiring.

Please help us to be able to continue to support her when she needs it the most.

When she was first diagnosed, she told her son Clay, our dad, "Just put me somewhere and forget about me." She had taken care of her mother, Granny Gayle with Alzheimer's and knew the troubles we would face. As a family, we made her a promise that we would never, ever do that. Help us to keep that promise, even if at times, she doesn't even know who we are.
