Help Grandma Debbie win fight against colon cancer

Donation protected

March 5, 2019, forever changed our Mom's story. What started with recurring pain in her abdomen ended with the shocking news that she had stage 4 colon cancer. It felt like a punch in the gut for all of us… especially our Mom.

She immediately went on extended leave from her job and began the exhausting fight for her life.

Fourteen days after her crushing diagnosis she had three feet of her colon removed, along with her appendix and lymph nodes. She endured six weeks of painful recovery and then two months of aggressive chemo. That was followed by another surgery at the University California San Francisco Surgical unit, where they removed three sections of her liver. Then she had six more weeks of recovery, followed by two months of debilitating chemo.

The side effects of chemo have been unlike anything that can be imagined. At one point our Mom walked outside after a chemo infusion and couldn’t breathe because her throat was closing up. She had to have immediate emergency care. It was later discovered that chemo was causing her body to have an allergic reaction to the cold. There have been many days that she has not had the energy to get out of bed. For anyone who knows our Mom, knows how difficult that must be for her. Then on December 3rd, she was hospitalized -and almost died- due to the toll that chemo has taken on her body.  Yet, after all of this, the cancer persists.

Conventional medicine has offered all it can to our Mom.

The chemo her oncologist recommended was a shot in the dark -and was effectively killing her, while not touching her cancer. However, there are some treatments that have been proven to be helpful against her type of cancer but they aren’t available in conventional medicine and have all been paid for out of pocket. Shortly before Christmas, she started going to Reno, NV twice a week to receive Vitamin C infusions, that have shown to be very promising to treat cancer. However, it averages $2,000  a week and is not a sustainable, long term solution.

In an effort to save her own life, our Mom has been diligently studying alternatives to chemo and has found something that offers hope. There is an AMAZING clinic that has immunotherapy in Mexico. They have been using it to treat our Mom's type of cancer successfully, however, it is beyond our Parents financial means. If we can raise enough money for her to go to CHIPSA Hospital and receive this treatment her life expectancy will increase greatly. Hopefully allowing her to see her 9 grandchildren graduate high school, get married, and maybe even have children of their own.

Our Mom is feeling very weak and frail these days and needs treatment as soon as possible. She has clung to her faith in God throughout this journey and he has shown her in big and small ways, that he is present each step of the way.

We aren’t ready to lose our Mom... Grandma...or friend yet. We are hoping to raise the funds needed by Monday, March 30th. Please consider partnering with us to help save our Mom!!!
