Help Greg and Emily rebuild after the Palisades fire

We are a group of friends raising funds for our friends Greg Caruso and Emily Doerner who lost their house in the Pacific Palisades fire. Greg and Emily are dear friends with two amazing kids, two dogs, and a lizard named Nubie. Now they are starting over from scratch. We are raising whatever money we can to help them through this impossibly difficult time. Our hearts broke when they shared the following message and we hope we can all help make them a little more whole:

Our house was lost this afternoon to the fire. The home we built with love and care is gone. Family photos, belongings and keepsakes evaporated. Vinyl melted. Clothes torched. Art gone. We realize that these are all just things, but of course, they were our things that we cherished. And if you know us, you know that we surrounded ourselves with things we love, for the past seven years of being together, we built our sanctuary...all of us...together.

We are so very thankful that we evacuated in time. We're safe. Our children, dogs and lizard are fine and happy.

It will be a long and emotional road ahead. We are ready and prepared for that. The love and support we've received from family and friends has been unparalleled. We love our community. We love our beautiful neighborhood and feel so lucky to have walked the beautiful streets and trails of the Palisades for so many years. Our hearts are with all of our friends, wonderful neighbors, and community members, we love you. The businesses and kind people who worked hard to create such a special space for everyone, we love you.

We are very lucky to have a wonderful family who has immediately jumped into action, even if it is something we never wanted them to have to do.

Los Angeles, we love you forever. You are our home, we will recover together. For now, baby steps.
