Help Greg live a life with ALS
Donation protected
Greg Rowden is suffering with the degenerative illness, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, (ALS). I am inviting you to join me in helping Greg. Together we can make it possible for Greg to live his life with dignity, happiness and purpose.
Here’s the situation. Greg was living in Victoria BC. He was working as an electrician at Victoria Shipyards. When he was diagnosed with ALS, his life was turned upside down. Within 3 years Greg lost the use of his limbs, legs, arms, and hands. His once lively and active life was quickly taken from him and replaced by a life of dependence and helplessness. Without the use of his arms, he was laid off from his job and could not find gainful employment in Victoria. He unfortunately lost the place in which he was living. It’s chilling to think that without help Greg may have ended up homeless and unable to survive.
Greg moved to Ontario to be closer to his three adult children. He receives some financial support from the government, but only enough to survive, to breath.
Throughout his life Greg has been a contributing member of society, working, paying taxes and helping others. Greg’s wish for a happy, healthy and productive retirement has been taken from him.Greg’s mind is sharp but his body does not work any longer. He needs to use his own funds to hire a personal support worker (PSW). Without a PSW he can’t even leave the hospital. He is trapped.
Please help. Let us together raise funds so Greg can live with dignity, enjoy time outside, catch a bus, go for a walk, watch a sunset or go to a beach. Greg needs us. Would you please consider helping him? I know Greg; he would do anything to help someone. So please, all of you who can, let’s help Greg.
Thank you.
