Help Greg n Bek Rebuild After Fire. Total Loss Of Home, Pets

In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 15, Rebecca and Greg awoke to find their home full of thick smoke and flames. As their home burned around them, they rushed to save the animals (2 cats and 2 dogs). In the chaos of the moment, Greg and Becca were separated and Becca became trapped on the 2nd floor. With the flames closing in, Becca's only option to save her life was to jump out the window. Becca grabbed her 2 cats but, sadly, panicked by the fire, they jumped from her arms directly into the flames. Horrifically, all of the animals were lost in the fire.

Becca was rushed to the Emergency Room at Victoria Hospital with 3rd degree burns to one side of her body and has a 2 foot long open wound on her back for which she had to undergo surgery. She was placed on a ventilator and Dr's were unsure of what would happen next. Becca was moved to the ICU where she currently remains. She has since woken up but is in extreme pain and has a long road of recovery ahead.

In Greg's attempts to save Becca, their home and pets, he received burns to both his face and hands. Greg is a roofer by trade and without use of his hands, he is unable to work. All of his roofing tools were lost and he is not eligible for unemployment benefits as roofing season started back up only a few months ago and he has not accumulated enough hours to apply.

Both Becca and Greg are beyond traumatized. Not only did they lose their home and all belongings, but they were helpless to save their beloved animals and had to listen to their cries as they died. Their home is no longer liveable and the remains have already been bulldozed to the ground.

Unfortunately, they do not have insurance so Greg and Becca are starting their lives from scratch. Donations will be used to pay for clothing, toiletries, food, medications, 1st and last month rent, various bills such a car payment/cell phone, etc., and tools to allow Greg to return to work once his injuries have healed.
