Support Gremlin in His Fight to Survive FIV
I need to edit this to include his new diagnosis of FIV. Check the latest updates for more info on that. Sorry. Things have been hectic.
My name is Anthony LePore. The handsome, furry fella is my little buddy Gremlin. I found Gremlin in May, 2023. I was delivering doordash, and he was at a customer's house. She was taking care of him, but couldn't have him in the house. I ended up taking him home. He was in slightly rough shape from living outdoors and had a case of worms. It took a little time, but he became healthy and strong. He's such a good boy. We became good friends. He has brought me so much happiness in the short time we've been together.
Recently, Gremlin has begun to lose weight while growing a big belly that makes him look pregnant. He also seemed to have trouble urinating. I took him to the vet yesterday, and after doing an ultrasound and checking to fluid in Gremlin's belly, the doc is pretty sure he has FIP. I don't know much about FIP, other than it's fatal without proper treatment.
The cost for the visit yesterday was $418. There still needs to be about $400 more in testing done to verify that it is FIP. Then, the FIP treatment will run around $2000. I work full time hours, but have become homeless. My cats have a safe place to stay at my dad's, where I visit them every day. I can not afford this treatment for Gremlin, and without it he will definitely die. He's a good boy, and doesn't deserve the bad stuff that has happened to him. Please, find it in your heart to help him even with just a small amount. Every bit helps. All money will go toward Gremlin's medical treatment. So, you can feel good knowing you helped this brave little soldier through his toughest battle. You will be saving the life of a wonderful little guy, and I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you.
