The total for both these vet visits are roughly about $4,947.28 (total for current AMC and Veg) and the original 1,300 for VEG when he was initially brought in making the whole total: $6, 247.28. not including gas money for both trips to VEG and AMC. Grigio Update: We Need Your Help!

Our sweet Grigio is fighting for his life . He’s severely anemic and needs a blood transfusion . The vets also found enlarged kidneys and want to perform an ultrasound to find out more . On top of that, his deep wound requires internal stitches.

Right now, we’re faced with a heart-wrenching decision — a $5,000 deposit is needed immediately to move forward with his treatment . Without this, the vets won’t be able to help him. We’re doing everything we can, even considering CareCredit, to give Grigio a chance to survive.

His initial care at VEG on Wednesday night with Dr. Basit was essential, and now, Grigio’s future rests on further tests at AMC.

Help Grigio Recover: Urgent Medical Funds Needed!

Late last night, one of our volunteers alerted us to a stray friendly cat who desperately needed medical care in Sunnyside. At 11 PM, our friend, the experienced trapper, The Animals' Battalion, went out solo and got lucky – he trapped Grigio within minutes! Grigio, friendly and trusting, seemed to know that help had finally arrived. We decided to call him Grigio (which means gray in Italian).

He was rushed to VEG in Manhattan, where the vet believes his wound was caused by getting entangled in barbed wire, as the injury wrapped under his shoulder. He went into surgery right away, and our volunteers stayed with him until 4:30 AM to ensure he got the care he desperately needed.
