Help Gus recover fully

Dear friends and community,

Gus and I are beyond grateful for the love and support we have received the last few weeks. As you know the miracle boy reappeared two weeks after he received horrible injuries when attacked by a large dog in the Park.

Since then we have had a number of visits to the vet and although he is doing much better, and some of his external injuries are healing well, Gus needed a CT scan to figure out the recommended surgery.

Some of you have already offered to help pay Gus' visits, tests and treatments at the vet. I have been waiting to hear from the dog's owners insurance, as you can imagine that is taking a long time. The total cost from the vet visits so far is £1400 and more visits are needed. I'm so grateful for the care and expertise they're offering Gus and I.

He was referred to Highland Vet Referral in Inverness and was a very brave boy with the CT scan there. This was £1700 and the vet has recommended surgery. I'm now having a few days to consider this as it will be a complex operation involving a three night stay.

Gus is an important part of my life and his presence is much loved by so many in community far and wide. He's been a friend and companion to many, present at many parties and events and a witness of many green burials, quietly supporting people in their grief. Shortly before his injuries he enjoyed taking part in the rehearsals of A Midsummer's Dream in his beloved woods to the delight of all involved. Sadly he missed the actual performance and he was in hiding to recover from the trauma of his wounds.
