Help the Haberland Family During this Time of Grief and Loss

Hi, My name is Jill Ricardo and I'm raising funds for Nicki Haberland and her precious children, Jessica, Cassidy, and Tristan following the tragic death of their husband and father in a car accident. I have known the Haberlands for ten years through our local children's community theater, Arts in Motion. The Haberlands just completed 18 years with the organization with the graduation of their third AIM kid. During all that time, they've been good friends to many and contributed positively in so many ways to our theater. The Haberlands have also been involved in theater throughout the Tampa Bay area and are well-loved

Steve was a truly kind, loving, and very proud husband and father, always there to support his wife and kids in their theater endeavors. Always a gentleman, Steve was quiet but funny, optimistic, joyful and loyal. Steve was a Fire Medic for Hillsborough County and they have said he "leaves behind a legacy of dedication, bravery, and service" and that "he was more than a brother and coworker to us; he was a cherished member of our family....Steve's commitment to serving our community was unparalleled. His unwavering bravery and selflessness in the line of duty exemplified the true spirit of a public servant."

As many people know, Steve recently completed several months of grueling treatment for colon cancer and on May 14 was told that his most recent scan was clear! In my last conversation with Steve, he was excitedly looking forward to going back to school to become a nurse and looked forward to using those skills to help others as a traveling nurse. He wanted to see the world!

Please join me in supporting his family through this difficult time and with the expenses that inevitably come with a tragedy like this. Nicki does not know what the future holds at this time, so we hope that relieving financial worries will help as she and the kids grieve the loss of the most important man in their life. Funds will used for final expenses and to support the family in these early months.
