Hai is a first-generation American immigrant from Vietnam, moving to the states in the 1980s with virtually nothing to her name. She lived in Minnesota for 20 years, eventually meeting a man named Minh Nguyen, another first-generation immigrant from Vietnam. Together they had one child, Lina. On July 22, 2022, Hai suffered a seizure leaving her in the hospital unresponsive and needing emergency neurosurgery. The future is uncertain for our family; anything helps.
