Help Haitham and his family to get to a safe place
Donation protected
After their home was demolished, like many other families, Haitham and his family now live in a tent like tens of thousand of others
Due to the ongoing hostilities, they have been displaced 7 times, losing first their home and then also their original tent, and so on.
Your donations can not only help this family to evacuate somewhere safe, but help them access food, water and essential supplies for basic living whilst in the meantime the prices of basic things are increasing exponentially due to Isr*e1's cruel aid blockades. e.g. cold bottled water costs around $200 at times, basic medicines are costing $100, tents can be around $2000.
The war has deprived Haitham’s family of the basic necessities to life: food, water, shelter. With constant bombing and strikes on everything: homes, apartments, and even the displaced people’s camps and tents, they have been stripped of any sense of safety and left without the feeling of the comfort of their home. They even bomb markets, hospitals, even the roads. How are they meant to get ingredients for food? How are they meant to access medical treatment if they are injured? No where is safe in Gaza. Each day passes with the fear that the next day won’t come for them.
Haitham and his family have been exposed to the harshest conditions and are vulnerable to the unpredictability of being displaced again.. even after having been displaced and relocating 7 times..
If you are able to donate, you’ll be helping this wonderful Palestinian family that includes:
Dad (50), Mom (40), Lenda (23), Haitham (21), Marwa (18), Ameera (14), Mohammed (10), Nada (4)
Haitham’s Mom is sadly sick with rheumatic disease and the war has stripped her of getting the necessary medical care.
His dad used to have a good job, but sadly cannot provide for his family due to the ongoing bombardment.
His older sister Lenda is an amazing graduate and mother of her 3-year older daughter. She graduated top of her class at university having specialised in mathematics.
Before the war, Haitham was a nursing student at Al-Aqsa University, just like any other university student around the world, deserving of an education. He was meant to graduate this year, but the occupation destroyed his university, and his hopes of continuing his education in Gaza.
Instead, he is now forced to find and collect water daily for his family, like many others: With most of the time the water being contaminated and causing illnesses.
However, Haitham still dreams of continuing his studies, possibly abroad.
He is a kind and caring soul, with money raised from a small separate fundraiser, Haitham managed to arrange gifts for the nearby children in tents for Eid. And in another selfless act, he was also able to arrange food packages and hand them out to those displaced nearby too.
Haitham and his family deserve a comfortable home and shelter, like any one of us. But unfortunately on the 13th of October, his family were forced to leave their home; this is what their beautiful home looked like before the war:
This is their home after relentless strikes in the area:
They were now forcibly displaced and had to transport whatever they could gather and find shelter, like many others: With what they could find, Haitham managed to get the help of his friends and form a pop-up shelter : Haitham’s family now live in a tent by the beach, and with the winter months coming soon, this may prove difficult to sustain. This is what has become ‘home’ for now, a makeshift tent with barely any covering, and on unstable ground. Each day is a nightmare. Each night is a nightmare. Each hour, each minute, each second. They go to sleep with the sounds of bombs dropping in the background, with the drones above their heads, shooting at whatever moves around them. Not one second of the day is normal for them. They were meant to be living a life just like you, where you could go to university, study and learn, where you could go out to the beach and swim with your friends, where you could to a restaurant and eat, or even simpler, where you could just go out safely. All of that is gone for them. Now walks around the beach are to find water, and it isn’t even clean. University… well there are no universities left in Gaza. Hospitals, the occupation bombs every corner and storms inside the hospital. Since the start of the war, Haitham has lost many members of his extended family, as well as friends from university.
We recently learned that sadly members of Haitham’s family were k!lled in the mission to “retrieve the hostages”, which has of course been devastating for Haitham and his remaining family.
Each day, Haitham hears the news of another family member of friend, killed by I$r*ae1. Citizens, vanished. Families, under rubble. Homes, demolished. Roads, destroyed. Schools, gone. Hospitals, attacked. Graveyards, desecrated. A normal life, obliterated. There is nothing that remains standing in Gaza that symbolises a normal life anymore. Yet, those that are still surviving are trying to do what they can. Share this to everyone and to everywhere that you know. With your donations, Haitham and his family have been able to access food and drink, have been able to get a tent, are able to survive day by day.
Continue supporting them!!
We are immensely grateful for every share, even donation, even your kind words.
