Help my family to evacuate from Gaza

Thank you for taking a few moments of your day to hear my story.

My name is Hala Nassar.

I managed to escape Gaza to Egypt not too long ago. The trauma of the unfolding war is beyond describable with mere words and I consider myself beyond lucky for successfully leaving Gaza. Sadly, millions of Gazans are stuck facing violent death at worst, and displacement, extreme psychological trauma, and severe malnourishment at best.

Although I achieved safety for myself, I couldn’t afford 12 members of my family the same opportunity. For this, I’m overcome with pain, heartbreak, and a deep sense of powerlessness. Thus, I decided that organizing this campaign would be the most productive way to channel my energy and frustration—an attempt to reunite in peace, to light a candle in darkness. The 12 family members include 8 children and my 65 year old mother who’s particularly vulnerable having hypertension and a thyroid condition. The 12 family members are:

The use of €85,000 in funds is as follows:

- €84,000 to securely evacuate all 12 family members to Egypt (€7,000 per person)

- Understandably, this is an exorbitant amount of money to ask for.

- €1,000 to cover costs of issuing new legal documents in Egypt

The situation in Gaza worsens by the moment. Particularly now, as the escalation of the Rafah offensive seems imminent and humanitarian aid efforts continue to fall short from meeting the minimum population needs, Gazans are sure to continue to bear the brunt of this violent offensive with no end in sight.
