Help Hala rebuild & raise money for Rafiq’s surgery abroad
Donation protected
An Update:
Hello friends!
Thank you so so much for your support. It means everything. I wanted to write about Rafiq and the fact that he still isn’t any closer to getting the surgeries he needs despite being evacuated. Alhamdulillah he made it to Cairo but actually finding an organisation or any help with medical expenses/ travel abroad is proving very difficult. This means as of right now the 28th August Hala and Zaki are relying on the Go Fund Me to raise money for his treatment and travel. It’s hard to see Rafiq suffering still after everything he’s been through. He can’t come this far only to decline now. If you could continue donating and sharing we would be so so grateful.

Very sadly Rafif is still stuck in Rafah and is now sick along with the serious injuries she has already sustained. Your very kind donations will also be used to buy food and supplies for Rafif as she remains in Rafah.

Hello beloveds,
I’m Rosie. I live in Anglesey, Wales and am fundraising for my dear friend Hala Hamza and her family, who really need our help. T/W - Please be aware the fourth picture down shows a graphic injury of a child.
Hala and her husband Zaki Ashour were staying in Egypt where Hala was receiving medical care for a high risk pregnancy, which sadly ended with a miscarriage. As Hala experienced this loss, war broke out in Gaza and she and her husband have been separated from almost their entire family including their two children Mahmoud and Jannah. Mahmoud and Jannah have now been evacuated safely Alhamdullilah.
Hala is a lawyer and Zaki is a merchant who had many successful shops. They had a beautiful life in Gaza but all of their shops and homes have been completely destroyed by the occupation, leaving them stranded in Egypt with nothing left and no way of helping their family who are in an increasingly desperate situation in the North.
Zaki’s daughter Rafif has had her foot amputated, and lost her mother and siblings. His son Rafiq has a broken shoulder, amputated leg and is covered in severe, open ulcers all over his body. The children’s evacuations are being covered by The Safebow Collective and all of the family’s children have been evacuated now except Rafif and Rafiq who are in a hospital in the South following a brutal two week siege at Al Shifa hospital.
Rafif before the war with Zaki and Hala.
Rafif now in North Gaza.
Some of Rafiq's extensive injuries which need urgent treatment.
This family has already been through so much. Zaki’s wife Raghda, their daughters Raneen and Rawand, his grand children, and his sons Rashid and Salah have all been killed. He has also lost his brothers and nephews. It is so much for one family to bear.
We need to support the family remaining in the North as their livelihood has been destroyed and house damaged. It is very dangerous. Food and medicine is also scarce and extremely expensive.
Hala’s family need to rebuild their whole lives from the ground up and are now taking care of six children with none of their previous resources. They need security to rebuild and begin healing from the devastation of this genocide. Rafif and Rafiq are also likely to need prolonged medical treatment which will need to be covered too.
This is a great chance to stand in solidarity with a family going through unimaginable pain and stress.
I will transfer the funds to Hala directly via Western Union.
Thank you very much for your help and solidarity.
