Help Hammam's Family Survive & Thrive
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Moné and I am raising money for my friend Hammam, his wife Haya, their two kids, and their extended family (4 more adults and 3 more children).
I met Hammam through his brothers-in-law who I had been fundraising to support while they were on the ground in Gaza. In April, I got to know one of Hammam's brother-in-laws better when I took mutual-aid funds to Cairo to help evacuate Hammam, his family, and his wife's parents from Rafah.
Like other Gazans, Hammam and his family have faced unimaginable horrors since the start of the US-backed Israeli genocide that is ongoing in Gaza. Hammam and his family have been displaced over and over again throughout the genocide. In March, an Israeli bombing destroyed Hammam's entire residential building, including the small flower and gift shop he owned and operated from the building's ground floor, and killed dozens of his family members.
Though Hammam and his (extended) family have survived the Israeli assault on Gaza, they face new and ongoing difficulties as refugees without citizenship, governmental aid, or job prospects. The $50,000 we are aiming to fundraise will go towards a variety of costs to help Hammam's family survive, and hopefully, rebuild their homes and livelihoods upon return to Gaza. Funds will be used to cover medical expenses (including ongoing cancer treatments for Hammam's mother-in-law), rent for their apartments, supplemental education for Hammam and his brother-in-law's children (all under the age of 7), and general costs of living.
Hammam, his wife and kids, and their 7 extended family members desperately need our support to survive and rebuild after the death and destruction they have faced over the last 9 months. Please help us give Hammam and his family all the resources and support they deserve. Thank you so much for reading and any donations you can offer, it is deeply appreciated.
