Help Hamouda Daban’s Family Escape Genocide
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Hamouda Daban. I created this fundraising campaign in hopes of helping my children and my entire family, which consists of 3 daughters, children Suzy, 5 years old, Razan, 2.5 years and a half months, Sila, 1 year old, and my wife. My family is living in very difficult conditions in Gaza after October 7, as they were displaced from their home 4 times. The children left their home for the first time and moved into their family home, and then moved with the family to another, less safe home. After that, the army ordered them to flee to southern Gaza, so they fled to the ground, then they ended up fleeing to a small tent and sleeping on the sand in one of the Rafah camps.
Unfortunately, my house was destroyed and I became homeless. Only the tent was made of nylon. How can we live when we are without a home or shelter?
The family suffers from a lack of food, especially the children. Sila, 1 year and 3 months old, her mother ran out of milk due to malnutrition, and the price of infant formula has doubled. Silla saw the simplest thing that could be available to children, which was apples, so he screamed and cried, wanting an apple, but the price of one apple reached 10 dollars!
How do we want to provide that to them?
There was also a lack of healthy drinking water, which caused them severe stomach pain, and both my brother and his wife contracted hepatitis A. Given the conditions imposed by the occupation, the siege, and the lack of resources, it was difficult for the family to provide the children with basic and simple needs, such as diapers. It is difficult to provide for the needs of Silla and the other children
What made matters worse was that the period of displacement was in the winter, and the tent was and still is not safe at all when it rains, as some raindrops fell on them and the atmosphere was not warm at all for the children.
When Silla heard the sound of thunder and the sound of rain hitting the nylon of the tent, he was terrified and ran to his parents and said it was the sound of bombing! The family also suffers from the lack of a bathroom or even a shower. They can only shower once a month using a bucket due to lack of water. The water is cold in winter because there is no electricity or gas to heat the water. Every morning, Nancy washes her children's clothes in cold water and hangs the clothes out in the open. If there is food, it is cooked on firewood, which is completely unhealthy and tastes bad because of the firewood.
They never imagined their lives would be like this. My wife and I lived a beautiful and peaceful life in Gaza, and I had big dreams for my children and plans for a bright future. I had a steady job and a steady income. There was a house with a roof to shelter them and a warm bed for the children, and all their needs were available, but the war deprived them of that.
Your donation and sharing their story will greatly help them rebuild their lives, provide the necessary protection for their children, provide their basic necessities of food, treatment, and necessities, and rebuild my home, which was destroyed by the war.
Thank you for your support, for listening to our story, and for helping us through this difficult time.
