Help Handyman, Mr. Eric: Truck and Trailer Stolen
EDIT: The truck and trailer were located!!! Lots of items taken but the truck and trailer are in good condition!! Thank you to all that have donated! This will be a great way to help Eric replenish his tools, ladders, and other personal items that were taken. He is so thankful for the support of the community and I'm glad we could get behind him during this stressful situation!
On May 7, around 11:30am, our wonderful handyman, who my kids call “Mr. Eric,” had his whole livelihood stolen from right in front of our house.
Eric has been working as our handyman for the last three years. I rely on him to do anything from hanging ceiling fans, fixing dry wall repairs, and hanging shelves. From the first time I met him, I knew that I stuck handyman gold because he is excellent at what he does. He is precise and knowledgeable, as well as timely and efficient. The best part about Mr. Eric is he is a family man, with three grandkids around my three kids ages. When he works- he teaches my kids what he is doing. My son still talks about he helped level his shelves with Mr. Eric. He also loves on our dog Snoopy, who usually barks at everyone- and Snoop is always excited to bug him while he works.
When Eric came to install handle pulls for me on Friday, he was going and back and forth from his truck to my house. On one of his trips back to his truck, he came out to his F250 and meticulously maintained trailer with all his tools, gone. We couldn’t believe it. After filing a police report, Eric continued to work on jobs in our house because he said he couldn’t just sit andbe angry- he “might as well do something.” After scouring our neighborhood for street facingcameras, we had no luck. Nothing has turned up. Even if his truck and trailer are recovered, chances are that all his tools he has collected through the years will need to be replaced. I want to show my kids that the bad guys won’t win, that good guys can come together and help pick each other up when bad things happen. Please help me help Mr. Eric!
