親愛なる友人、家族、優しい心を持ったみなさまへ、

この辛い状況下であるからこそ、みなさんの思いやりがつよい力になります。

私たち、ハニンとザックはガザにいるハニンの親戚のためにみなさんのご協力をお願いすることにしました。現在、助けが必要なのは、叔父と叔母、彼らの子供たちと配偶者たち、そして孫たちです。

この10人家族は、悪化し続けるガザの状況下で容赦ない苦難に直面してきました。とりわけ、北部の出身だからです。何度も追い出され、現在は、Deir Al Balahで切迫した状況にあります。今すぐに安全な場所へ避難しなければいけません。

ガザ北部出身である私の叔父とその家族は想像を絶するものに耐えてきました。現在進行形で起きているジェノサイドによって家を追われ、何度も避難を強いられ、向かった先々でさらに移動を強いられてきたのです。彼らの道のりは、折れることのない精神、命懸けの道のりであり、移動を強いられる度、試練や危険が伴います。彼らは現在Deir Al Balahにいるのですが、生きていくのに必要最低限の物品へのアクセスが限られており、頭上から常に暴力の脅威に晒されている、といった危険な状況にあります。この悪夢の中、彼ら一家の家々が攻撃され、失われたものは取り返しがつかないものです。

かすかに光る希望：

この混乱の中にも、希望の光があります。エジプトには親族の所有する家があります。その家に避難できれば新たに生活を始めることができるのです。しかし、ガザからエジプトへの道のりは、安全な旅路の確保、移動にかかる費用と、新しい国で生活を始めるのに必要な費用など障壁ばかりです。

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Souls,

In these trying times, our capacity for compassion becomes our most profound strength. We, Hanin and Zac are reaching out today to seek your support for my (Hanin's) uncle, his wife, their children and grandchildren, and two of the children's spouses. This family of 10 has faced relentless hardships due to the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the northern region where they originally come from. Having been displaced multiple times, they now find themselves in dire circumstances in Deir Al Balah, desperately needing to evacuate to safety.

Before I go on to talk about their story, it’s important to mention that I haven’t been able to see my family in Gaza in years due to the struggle of living under occupation and apartheid. I miss them. I miss everything about them and Gaza. I pray every day that we get to reunite safely.

Background and Current Crisis:

Originally from the North of Gaza, my uncle and his family have endured the unimaginable. The ongoing geno/cide has forced them to leave their home, seeking refuge time and again, only to face further displacement. Their journey has been one of resilience and survival, moving from one location to another, with each relocation bringing its own set of challenges and dangers. Now located in Deir Al Balah, they find themselves in a precarious situation, with limited access to basic necessities and the constant threat of violence overhead.

A Glimmer of Hope:

There's a silver lining amidst this turmoil: the family owns a house in Egypt where they can find refuge and start anew. However, the journey from Gaza to Egypt is fraught with obstacles, including the need for safe passage and the financial means to travel and settle in a new country.

Our Plea for Help:

We are seeking to raise $50,000 to cover the evacuation costs for my uncle and his family. This amount will help cover the necessary permits, travel expenses, and initial resettlement costs in Egypt, providing them with a chance to live in safety and dignity. Your contribution will directly support their journey to a place where they have a home waiting for them, offering them a stable environment to rebuild their lives.

The funds raised will be sent from Zac’s account to Hanin’s family member’s bank account in Egypt via international transfer. The money will be used to pay a coordinating agency called Ya Hala, which will arrange for the family to evacuate to Egypt.
