Help Hank Beat Thyroid Carcinoma & Medical Issues

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Morley and I am fundraising for my daughter, Lyssa and my grandpup, Hank.

Anyone who knows Lyssa, knows Hank Williams Jr. Jr.. Since rescuing him at 6 months old, the two have been inseparable, and everyone who knows him would agree that he truly is one of a kind. Hank has had a great life but is in need of urgent medical attention.

While developing a surgical plan to remove a benign but aggressive tumor in Hank's jaw, it was discovered that Hank is suffering from Thyroid Carcinoma. Due to the critical nature of this diagnosis, the oral surgery will be delayed while Hank undergoes serious surgery to remove the malignant tumor. This means 2 more aggressive surgeries on the docket for Hank this year - equalling 4 (including 2 previous ACL surgeries) in the last 3 years.

Due to the urgency of the diagnosis, Thyroid Surgery was scheduled immediately for May 5, 2023, in which they will remove the cancerous tumor along with his thyroid. Once Hank has healed sufficiently and the full biopsy results are returned (about 2-3 weeks after surgery), he will require a follow-up consultation with an oncologist to determine if additional treatment (chemo, radiation, clinical trials, etc.) is necessary. This next stage brings a lot of uncertainty in terms of prognosis, next steps and cost which carries a heavy emotional toll.

Once Hank is fully healed from Thyroid Surgery, past any additional treatments and deemed cancer-free, his medical team will begin to move forward with the ​​Oral Surgery (mandibulectomy). They will remove the oral tumor along with a large portion of his jaw. This will result in some deformity and Hank will need to re-learn how to eat and drink with his new facial structure. If you know Hank, you know he’s resilient and together, he and Lyssa will navigate these difficult circumstances.

Hank is Lyssa’s whole world and she would do anything to care for him. However, the financial burden of these expenses is coming at a difficult time when she is already facing financial hardships. Breakdown of how the raised funds will be distributed:

$3,108.47 will cover the cost of medical imaging, surgical consultation & initial biopsy

$3,755.66 is the estimated cost of the Thyroid Surgery & full biopsy but the final cost could exceed this

$275-$300 will cover the cost of the initial oncologist consultation
