Help Hank Dietle's Tavern Ride Again

Donation protected
Hank Dietle’s  has been a labor of love for fans of the county’s oldest licensed bar for many years, serving up cold beer and warm memories since the 1916 store reopened as Hank Dietle’s Tavern in 1950. Starting in 2015, Hank Dietle’s hosted "Rockabilly Saturday Night" and other live music, providing a new venue for live bands and dancing in a homey social setting that proved a perfect fit for fans of live roots and retro music. After a devastating fire in 2018, the tavern has been closed and undergoing renovations following a fundraising campaign by the previous management team.

Now, with the new management team of Tommy Bowes, Sarah Bonner, and Alan Kresse, though the covid pandemic has caused much stress and delays our re-opening goal is set for spring/summer of 2021. A contractor has been hired and repair work has begun. We’re seeking additional funds to augment our own to complete the build-out, new bathrooms, and lots more. The new Hank Dietle’s will be more spacious and hopefully serve locally prepared food, while retaining the roadhouse vibe we all remember.

Though the principals have invested a substantial amount of money, we’re asking for your financial help to complete the construction so we can open for business and bring back live music to Rockville Pike!

Any contribution will help, no matter how small, all funds will go directly toward the reconstruction and interior fixtures. We’re grateful for the support shown by the community so far and will keep donors informed of our progress. With your help Hank Dietle’s Tavern will be back in action this spring!
