Help Hannah Overcome Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone, we are Hannah’s family,

We would like to introduce you to Hannah Jaramilla, a 19-year-old architecture student at the Technological Institute of the Philippines. She is a young lady full of promise and dreams. She loves cuddling with her cats, singing and dancing K-Pop, drawing and playing Valorant with her friends, but right now she can’t do all those as she is facing an unimaginable challenge. Hannah is currently in the hospital at UERM Medical Center, fighting Grade II Clear Cell Ependymoma, a rare and aggressive brain tumor. Along with this, the doctors have also discovered that she has hydrocephalus on both the left and right sides of her brain, severe hydronephrosis of the left kidney, and also a mass behind her uterus. After the surgery to remove her brain tumor on August 8, she got infected with meningitis, which caused weeks of fevers, muscle spasms, and left debris in her brain. Her doctors put in an Ommaya Reservoir to drain the hydrocephalus in her left brain as a temporary measure while they were curing the infection. When they took an MRI scan last September 7, the doctors found out that the left side of her brain had been drained, however, the tumor came back and now her right brain has a huge mass of water. Just today, September 13, she underwent surgery again to put a VP Shunt in her brain going to her stomach as a permanent drainage for her hydrocephalus.

We are reaching out to you for help in covering her mounting medical bills, which have already reached Php 2,000,000 or $35,182 and are still going up since she’s still confined in the hospital and has been there since August 3, 2023.

Hannah's hard journey began when she started experiencing vomiting and severe headache. These symptoms led to a diagnosis that no one should ever have to face. Despite her young age and the immense challenges she has encountered, Hannah has shown incredible strength and determina
tion. She recently underwent a complex surgery to remove the tumor, and other procedures to put a drain coming from her brain for her hydrocephalus. She has undergone a lot, including having meningitis after her brain tumor operation. Her battle is far from over. She is currently bed-ridden, cannot speak, eat nor support herself to sit up, and is dependent on other people to position her on the bed and clean herself. She faces a long road to recovery, including radiation therapy, ongoing medical care, and speech and physical therapy so she can get back to doing the things she loves the most.

Hannah's dreams of becoming an architect have been put on hold as she fights for her life. She is a smart and talented young lady with so much potential, and we believe that with your support, she can overcome this devastating illness. Your contribution will not only help cover her medical bills but also provide hope and encouragement to Hannah and us, her family, during this challenging time.

Please consider donating to Hannah's GoFundMe campaign and sharing her story with your friends and family. Every dollar/peso counts, and together, we can make a difference in her life. Let's rally behind Hannah, support her on her journey to recovery, and help her get back on track to achieving her dreams. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
