Help Hawkins Student Receive Award in NYC

Link to KLTV television story about Jaykob Hi, my name is Elizabeth White and I am Jaykob Dodd's digital media teacher at Hawkins High School in Hawkins, TX. Jaykob won a national gold medal for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards- a truly remarkable accomplishment. This year marks the 100th anniversary of this award. Former winners such as Truman Capote, Stephen King and Andy Warhol won this award when they were teenagers. Jaykob and his mother must pay for this trip out of their own pocket. If you have some spare change and can contribute, I would be so grateful, as well as Jaykob and his family. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Jaykob to go to NYC, receive his gold medal at Carnegie Hall and then see his artwork on exhibit. I will turn any money raised over directly to Jaykob's mother to help with hotel, meal, transportation and airline costs for 2 nights and 3 days. The Scholastic Awards provided winners with several days of exclusive events. Jaykob is a deserving young man- with a bright future ahead of him.
