Help Hazel pay transition & emergency dental costs
Updated Sept 2021!
Hello!! Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Hazel and I am a 28 year old trans woman.
I am seeking help paying for a variety of medical expenses both transition related and not. I am in need of a great deal of dental work and have been quoted over $17,000 in work so far. I am also between dentists and waiting to get second and third opinions. I suffer from some sort of tmj disorder that I haven't been able to get a specific diagnosis for but which causes me to clench my jaw both while awake and while sleeping. So far, this has caused me to break 7 teeth, and has worn down most of the teeth on the left half of my mouth disproportionately with the right. I also recently had an experience with a dentist who caused one of my teeth which in the past had been treated with a root canal and crown to lose its crown and damage the tooth in front of it as well. In January of 2021, I had a tooth extracted and bone graft planted such that I could receive an implant to replace it, but due to not currently having a dentist I'm seeing, I haven't received the implant. The major work I require summarizes to: 1 tooth surgically implanted, 1 tooth surgically extracted and implanted (this is the tooth damaged by my previous dentist and I am exploring if it can be retreated with root canal and recrowned instead so as to avoid unnecessary surgeries and costs), 1 onlay across the tooth that was damaged with my crown, and 1 crown each on two teeth worn down by the grinding. Minor work includes a handful of buccal fillings for which I have not yet received a quote or assessment. Most of these problems stem directly from my tmj disorder but my insurance will not cover any doctors visit to discuss it.
Likewise, my health insurance does not extend coverage to most of the aspects of affecting a medical transition, and so I am also seeking assistance with costs associated with things such as hair removal (electrolysis), transition related surgeries, hormone replacement therapy, medications, changing my name and documents. All of my non dental related savings are allocated towards covering these costs.
I also have venmo and cashapp: @woadleaves and $woadleaves respectively
I appreciate you taking the time to read my page and hope that you'll consider sharing it! Thank you!
