Help Hazel Stay Afloat

Hi, I'm Hazel, a disabled trans woman and disability support worker, musician and activist in Philly. I'm asking you for help with paying a debt to the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) I can't pay on my own.

Sometime last year, as my car was in the process of breaking down, I received a parking ticket somewhere in the city. I was unable to pay at the time and felt hopeless, so I put it out of my head for a while, and when I returned I found the fee had grown to the point that I was still unable to pay it then. This happened a couple more times (my car hasn't worked or been driven since last year) until recently, when I'd learned my car was towed by the PPA for the outstanding fine. I now owe the PPA just over $2000 in addition to at least a few hundred in towing fees & daily impoundment costs.

I'd been having a hard time getting by already, as I have been getting far fewer dependable hours at work lately (an issue which seemed to me and others to arise in tandem with my involvement with organizing a union at my workplace) and have already struggled for years with seeking adequate care as an autistic trans person. I know most of us are struggling right now, but I would be truly and deeply grateful for any help you could give me to avoid falling further into debt and facing more dire consequences than the auctioning of my car that would threaten my livelihood. Any money I get over the total needed to set myself square with the PPA will go towards paying outstanding medical fees and savings toward laser facial hair removal and therapy.
