RSD/CRPS feels like your body is burning from within, my color changes go from red to purple to black.

                                                  ~~JASMINE'S STORY~~
I mainly dream of normalcy, being able to enjoy life once again without having to combat pain.

My CRPS/RSD started in my left wrist in 2010 when I was 14 from a softball injury, over the years it has spread to all extremities and has now spread to my stomach and internal organs. On a scale of 1-10, my pain levels never dip below a 6 and my daily pain stays at a 7-9 level. When my pain reaches 8+, I am completely incapacitated.  I am not able to move or talk I am completely frozen in pain. Since June I have not been able to eat or even keep water down. The pain is unbearable, I have lost 90 pounds and have no quality of life. My whole life is designed around keeping my pain from flaring. It’s almost impossible to wrap your head around the ways this condition affects every aspect of your life- the toll that it takes on your mental health, your personal relationships, your ability to support yourself, your ability to sleep- it takes everything from you.

DIAGNOSES
I was diagnosed with CRPS when I was 14 years old in May of 2010. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome occurs after injury and is caused by a dysfunction of the central and/or peripheral nervous system, severely amplifying pain in the affected area(s). CRPS is nicknamed the “suicide disease,” has a rating of 46 out of 50 on the McGill pain scale (rating higher than amputation and cancer) Medically speaking, it is the most painful disease known to man.  CRPS usually starts in one of the four limbs but can spread to any part of the body, including internal organs. It is a chronic disease that often worsens over time. The disease may remain localized, spread slowly over years, or progress rapidly like a wildfire out of control. There is no known cure for CRPS.

HOPE
I have not found any medication nor treatment that brings any level of relief to the excruciating pain. I have been to specialists at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, North Carolina, Rhode Island and many more. I have tried many medicines, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and Calmare therapy all have helped and then my nerves find ways around what works and the pain come back worse.  My last hope is the Spero Clinic in Fayetteville, Arkansas that uses a unique holistic approach to treat CRPS. Over 12-14 weeks, a specialized team dedicated to my unique case will guide me through multiple therapies designed to reset my central nervous system. This will reduce pain while improving physical mobility. Many CRPS patients are reporting remarkable improvement through these treatments. It is the only clinic offering these specific treatment methods worldwide.

Spero Clinic
Dr. Katinka van der Merwe, a leading Nerve Rehabilitation specialist, is well-known for taking on hopeless CRPS cases with her effective 12 Week Neurologic Rehabilitation program. NEEDS & EXPENSES
The Spero Clinic program is NOT covered by insurance and there are no payment plan options. Patients on average pay $3,000/week for treatment.
The proceeds that are made will go towards the Spero Treatment Program and lodging.

Please help me on my journey of hope by donating to cover the cost of the program that could give me my life back. I cannot thank you enough for your love and support and look forward to the day when I can write an update to you all and tell you that my pain level is at a zero!!
