Help Heal Our Girl’s Heart

Hi my name is Amanda and I am fundraising for my best friend Kate’s heart surgery. This time a year ago Kate got diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called a Myocardial Bridge. Simply put one of her arteries goes right through her heart when it’s supposed to go around or over it. Each time her heart squeezes to pump blood, the band of muscle exerts pressure, constricts the artery, and reduces blood flow to her heart. It has disrupted her life and left her with unrelenting chest pain, dizziness, and shortness of breath daily. Treatment consists of medication, and if medication doesn’t work, an open heart surgery called a Myotomy or “unroofing” is the best possible option. In September Kate and her husband TJ are going to Chicago for testing and surgery. In faith, they are trusting God to heal her heart and make her whole. Kate is 31 with dreams of a future that is full and includes a family. Let’s get our girl’s heart healed so she can sing praises and testify to the God of grace who finishes what he started. I believe that greater things are still to come for this sweet sister of mine.
