Heath's Fight With Cancer
Heath McDonald has been fighting stage 4 non-hodgkins B-type follicular lymphoma cancer since June of 2019. Heath has endured months of chemo, radiation, a surgery and many other tests and procedures over the past 14 or so months.
Heath is a fighter, crusty to the core and never ever quits. He has continued to work through all of this until recently when he found out his white blood cell count was so low that the Dr's forced him to stop working since he has zero immune system left. They are hopeful that insurance will pay for the more expensive and more powerful booster shots that he needs to kick start his fighting white blood cells again.
This entire time Heath has continued to coach archery to the youth around his home area and has even taken them to archery tournaments. Archery is Heath's passion and he has a burning desire to help kids in archery through coaching and by running Young Guns Archery. Young Guns is a not for profit that Heath and his wife Julie run that allows young archers to get hands on with bows from many of the manufacturers and helps them find what fits them and is most comfortable for them and they can record all of this information to give to the parents so when they visit a pro shop they already know what they would like to purchase. Heath & Julie make no salary and gain zero compensation from Young Guns. Young Guns is a labor of love and they do a fantastic job with it.
Heath is a selfless individual who gives to everyone without expecting anything in return and it is our chance to give back to the man who gives so freely of himself to many others.
We are trying to raise money to help pay for Heath's time off work and help Heath and Julie out with some of the medical bills they are facing. If you know Heath personally, you already know that he won't be a fan of this. However, Heath is one of the good guys and truly deserves any help we can all give him.
Heath and Julie have two kids. Brooke who is attending college and Trey who is a senior in high school. Thank you for considering helping Heath, Julie and the kids out.
