Help Heather Care for Her Sister

Hi, I'm Susan. I'm writing to make you aware of a family who needs our help.

My son's girlfriend, Heather, has been caring for her sister, Kristal, with Stage 4 Clear Cell Carcinoma who is in HospiceCare. Heather lives with Kristal and Kristal's husband. She was diagnosed in April 2021 and the cancer has progressed quickly. Chemo has not been successful. Their mom and grandma drove from Florida last week to be close, but were living in their car since the short term place Krystal and Heather stay doesn't allow more people to stay overnight and the mom and grandma didn't have money for a hotel room. Our family has helped, but they need so much more when it comes to living expenses and the foreseen funeral expenses.

My son, James, has been dating Heather the past several months. They both came for dinner Monday evening. In conversation, Heather told me of the true living situation! Heather is very quiet and reserved, so I had no idea of of how desperate situation is. Heather is an absolute sweetie. She works so hard at her jobs. She comes up to Denver to get a break from the hard reality of life. It is so tough to see someone dealing with a big sister in the final stages of life.
