Help Heather Curb Stomp Cancer!!!!

Donation protected
You meet strong people. And you think there is nothing in this world that could test them.

In early October Heather went to the urgent care for what she thought was a hemorrhoid. I met her there and we were on our way from urgent care to the emergency room as the doctor advised her to head straight to the E.R. We spent about 7 hours there. She did every blood test, physical exam, X-ray, ultra sound, you could think of. At the last moments of her time admitted, the doctor came in and said there is nothing that they could find and that they put in a referral for a colonoscopy at an urgent status. It would take a few weeks to get that colonoscopy appointment scheduled.

It was early in the morning and I was waiting to be called up to Heather when she was done with her colonoscopy. We were laughing and talking about where we would get breakfast after the appointment was over while waiting for the doctor to come in after her procedure. He came in and we smiled and he didn’t sit, he stood and he said “we found a mass” she asked what that meant and our laughs were silenced when the doctor answered “you most likely have cancer” Life changed with one sentence. She set up every appointment and test needed to confirm that diagnosis.

Stage three colorectal cancer. Possibility of it metastasizing to the liver. Test after test, appointment after appointment and week after week she was finally told her liver was okay for now and needed to be checked again in six months and she at last had a treatment plan. Several rounds of chemo therapy, radiation and finally surgery.

Heather is the best friend anyone in this world could ask for and she’s one of the rare people that have so many friends that consider her their best. She is fire and she is a force stronger than anyone most have met. When asked if there’s any way to help she usually replies instinctively with a solid “no, I’m fine.”

Heather is married to a wonderful man named Ken and has four amazing children and two beautiful grandchildren.

Between her copays, appointments, scans, tests, emergency room visits, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery to cover; Her out of pocket expenses will be high and beyond stressful. With so many people reaching out to her and her close family and friends if there is anyway they can help, we wanted to set this up to hopefully relieve some of the financial burden.

We ask if you come upon this post you please donate what you can and if you can’t, please share her story. We are fighting for our friend and we are asking for your help for her. She has spent her life being strong and being the best wife, mother and friend anyone could ask for. Her fight is our fight and we thank you for taking this time to read her story. We know she will curb stomp cancer!!!!
