Help Heather Fulfil Her Travel Dreams
Donation protected
In May 2020, in the midst of the Pandemic, I was diagnosed with a rare form of Ovarian cancer. Despite two major operations and chemotherapy it kept returning. On 8th May 2021- ironically World Ovarian Cancer awareness day- as I battled a major infection I was told my cancer was terminal.
I am 41. I am single with no children. I have a real zest for life. During all my gruelling treatments I focused on my love of travel and how it wouldn't be long before I step on a plane.
No one can tell me how long I have left. But all I know is I am not done yet.
Please don't feel obliged to donate, but your generosity is appreciated for those that can help.
My dream is to travel to three places, Iceland, Ireland and New York.
I have been to Iceland before, and fell in love with the landscape and horses. I will ride for the last time, watch whales and chill out in the blue lagoon. Best of all my 81 yo mother will come, we have never been on holiday together.
The second is to return to my spiritual home -Ireland. Except this time it is to meet friends who I met online yet have been a huge source of strength.
I have never been to the USA, and was due to go last year. One of my best friends lives in Manhattan, so I would stay with her and explore the City before seeing close friends who live nearby.
Of course, all of this is subject to my health, my consultants agreement and covid restrictions.
I also dream of making a film, but there will be a separate fundraiser for that.
