Help Heather Help the Children

Hello Everyone! :-) I am so proud of and inspired by my kind and generous friend, Heather! She has always been a giver and a volunteer, but it is the children of a small impoverished town in Mexico who have been the most fortunate recipients of Heather's altruism.
For the past five years, she has been volunteering her time and energy to teach English to elementary and middle school students in a tiny community in the middle of the desert. She's also been donating books, toys, and clothing to the children and their families.
She showers all the kids with her love and joy and literally takes two of them into her home and cares for them as her own for a few months a year. Honestly, she considers the entire town sort of an extended family and from what I have observed the feeling is mutual.
Heather strives to make learning a joy for her students by teaching through music, movement, fun and games. It's not easy to keep children of multiple ages and abilities all engaged in the same lesson, but she does an amazing job! She's always trying to improve her teaching skills and recently applied to an innovative summer program to learn how to teach her students to be self-directed learners. These skills will help them throughout their school years and beyond!
Heather was awarded a partial scholarship to The Agile Learning Facilitator Summer Program and currently has the funds to cover the remainder of the tuition and some of the expenses. I'd like to help her raise an additional $1,400 to cover the remainder of the cost for airfare, accommodations, transportation and meals.
Please consider donating any amount to help Heather get this training and give these children a better chance for a brighter future.
Every little bit helps. No amount is too small.....or too large. If Heather's efforts inspire donations above $1,400, I can assure you that any additional funds will be put to good use for the children. :-)
