Help Heather & Matt Heal: Surgery, Mental Health, and Family

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother Matt and sister Heather, who are facing a season filled with unimaginable challenges. Both Matt and Heather have dedicated their lives to building a family, a flower farm, and a life centered on giving to others, from the church to their community. But today, they are the ones who need our help.

This year, Matt experienced a severe bout of depression that forced him to pause both his pastoral work and their family’s flower farm at the height of the season. The financial strain alone has been intense. Just as they began to regain their footing, Heather’s health took a critical turn. She now requires major surgery for advanced endometriosis. This has caused internal organs, including a large endometrioma that has fused to her rectum, to bind together, leading to severe gastrointestinal pain and other health complications. The complexity of this surgery, along with insurance denials, has left them facing overwhelming out-of-pocket costs.

With medical bills mounting and no insurance coverage for the specialized treatment she needs, their family faces an overwhelming total of $133,750 in expenses, from surgery to lost income and essential recovery needs. Matt has been balancing homeschooling their children, managing farm duties, and taking on pastoral duties, all while supporting Heather and trying to make ends meet. It’s more than any family should have to bear alone.
