Help Heather Rebuild After Home Disaster

Heather is my co-worker. She is a wonderful mom and much loved by all who know her. She and her 8-year-old daughter were at home when flooding from an upstairs apartment caused her ceiling to fall in several places followed by gushing water pouring into her home for over 2 hours. Glass light fixtures filled with water and crashed to the floor, with shattering glass adding to the mess. The apartment and almost all of their belongings were destroyed.

Thankfully, Heather has renter's insurance that will eventually cover the cost of replacing some of her losses, but definitely not all of them.

Heather and her daughter have relocated to a hotel, at their own expense, and she is navigating the bureaucracy with both her insurer and the building management.
