Help Hector get a light motorized wheelchair!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Eddie Cuevas. I am a Special Ed assistant at Santa Maria High School. Hector is the student with cerebral palsy I’ve been assisting for the last year. He and I have built a great rapport over the last year and I hope to be his assistant the rest of his high school career.
Hector is a great student. In fact, he is number 1 in his class! He takes honors and AP classes and is just a smart kid.
Hector’s parents work hard, often 6 days a week, to provide Hector with all that he needs to give him a good life. He currently has an electric wheelchair that he uses when at school, but has to use a manual wheelchair when at home because his electric wheelchair doesn’t fit in either of his parents’ vehicles.
I recently saw an older gentleman at a grocery store with what appeared to be a manual wheelchair. To my surprise, it was actually electric! This intrigued me, so I looked up the brand to get more info and to see the cost. If I could help raise the funds for his light-weight wheelchair, his parents wouldn’t have to purchase an expensive vehicle suited for wheelchairs. The particular wheelchair I’m raising funds for is foldable and only weighs 34 pounds! They’d be able to store it in their car!
i want to thank anyone who has even bothered to read this and especially thank those of you who donate. I hope to give him a great surprise.
Thank you,
Eddie Cuevas
