Help Heidi Find a New Healing Home
Donation protected
This is not a story about cancer. This is a story about healing.
Update as of 9/27/24
Heidi finally found a landlord who was willing to consider her despite the rent total being very close to her monthly income. Thankfully the rent includes everything, and the space is in a beautiful healing environment. The hotel where Heidi has been staying has been a blessing, but it is costing her about $150 a day, and that is on top of storage unit fees, legal fees etc.
Heidi is so thankful for the generosity from each of you so that she can afford to move into and live in her new space soon.
Some have asked for her Venmo so that she has cash on hand more immediately for any time sensitive needs:
@Heidi-Baldwin-3 Last 4 of phone number is 4606 Thank you again for helping Heidi begin this new healing chapter in her life.
Update as of 9/14/24
Heidi is officially homeless and staying temporarily in a hotel.
She is in need of help now more than ever to raise funds to be able to secure a long-term housing and keep her out of a homeless shelter. The waitlist for income-based housing are in most cases year long, and without resources to pay in advance for rent, traditional landlords won't consider renting to her.
Thank you to all of those who have shared and donated so far.
Your kindness and support are very much appreciated.
3 years ago, after an accidental fall, Heidi was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
She quickly lost her ability to walk, and started requiring help 24/7 to meet her basic needs.
As a health coach and a health warrior herself who has helped many people in their healing journey, Heidi took her health into her own hands and started her healing journey.
Unable to work and bed bound for many months, Heidi relied heavily on her loved ones, especially her partner of 14 years, for support.
But life had other plans.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, Heidi is no longer with her partner, and she is being ejected this weekend from the house she has helped built and called home for the past 12 years.
After several months of researching, pleading and waiting lists, Heidi was taken to court and has now only 3 days to find a new home, that will accomodate her needs and with access for her wheelchair and her 3 emotional support cats before becoming homeless.
Unfortunately, she doesn't meet a lot of the state requirements for traditional housing while shelters and government funded homes are full.
If you know Heidi you know what kind of hard working warrior she is, you know her relentless hopeful spirit, her big heart and you have probably been touched one way or another by her kindness and compassion.
If you don't know Heidi, I can assure you that she is the person you wish you had in your corner in your darkest hour.
She is about to lose it all. Her home. her caregivers, her fur babies, her sanity, but most importantly the space to heal.
She is too proud to ask, so we are asking for her to help and support Heidi to find a suitable home where she can start a new life and continue her healing journey.
No amount is too small, and every dollar counts. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your network.
Your support means the world to us and will make a tremendous difference in Heidi's healing journey.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your kindness and generosity. Let's come together to help Heidi recover and return to doing what she loves.
