They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well it also takes a village to provide the support needed through other stages of life! And this is one of those!
My dear friend Helena is an artist and therapist working from home and living on the Nth West Coast of Tasmania who's been hit really hard by the economic down turn and now after 15 years in her home she has six weeks to uproot and shift her art studio, her therapy studio and her home whilst finding herself caught up in the housing crisis, inflated rental market with limited funds and body issues that make the physical side of this seem almost impossible.
I'm asking the village for financial support for Helena so she can:
Rebuild a space to see Art Therapy and counselling clients.
Continue to explore and develop the amazing body of work (paintings) she is now birthing.
Hold workshops to support others in reawakening their creativity and create a sacred space for others to experience and enjoy the inspirational and healing qualities of her work.
Most important to Helena is creating a healing, creative space for others who are suffering or struggling to get the support they need.
Having this financial backing will help Helena get out of her current situation, expand her field of search to find an appropriate space/place and support her to get all the studio and paintings moved.
This will also help Helena to feel safe and supported; so she is not facing the unknown on her own. This is where the village comes comes in…and that village starts with YOU!
