Help Hemma and her 6 children

Hemma Balkaran is a 37 year old single mother of six children (ages 14, 12, 10, 8, 5 and 1) located in Georgetown, Guyana. She was in a common law relationship with her first five children's father, which ended in 2018. The relationship became abusive and unloving over the years. However, she stayed for her children hoping things would change. However, nothing changed and things got worse for her when his mother and himself kicked Hemma and her children out. She went to court and 4 months later found a job and place to live with her kids. He was summoned by the court to pay $2500gy for each child but hardly paid any money. Since 2019, he has not paid a dollar and is hiding from the cops.

During that time, things got more challenging as she struggled to make ends meet. She met someone and two years later got pregnant with her last son. She needed money to pay her rent and feed her kids, but it didn't work out. The pain, hurt and humiliation were too much. Eventually the pain became so much that she just wanted to die.

But she kept faith in God and her kids. Her kids are all she has and she wants to do the best she can for them. So she will keep fighting.

Her children's father wants nothing to do with them, so she plays both roles of being their mother and father. Over the years, she realized it’s just her and the kids.

It hasn’t always been an easy road for Hemma. She is trying her best to provide, be there for her children, give them a home, food, and send them to school to get their education. At $3000gy per day ($15usd) her job pays below minimum wage but it’s better than nothing. She just wants to see her kids happy and have the life they deserve because they are good kids. They’re innocent in all of the hardship she is going through. She knows one day they will grow up and make her proud. Hemma says she loves every one of her kids deeply until her last breath.
