My story starts back in early October with a trip to ER for inflammation on my left leg. The Doctor said it was Cellulitis after keeping me in the hospital for 5 days. Dr said I needed to take antibiotics and steroids for two weeks and everything would be ok. Being a Diabetic I have always been concerned with losing my limbs because of this disease. Two weeks had gone by and I took the medication as prescribed within days the symptoms had returned with vengeance. I packed a suitcase and headed back to the ER. It was at that time that I told the ER Dr that I would not sign any discharge papers until I had a more thorough diagnosis. I was shortly thereafter admitted for another 5 days. This time with a much more serious Diagnosis. With the help of one of My Doctors they put a team of Doctors together to make a true diagnosis. Testing was done by Infectious Disease, Vascular, Endocrinology, Rheumotology and last but not least Oncology. After 5 days of testing AND two Biopsies Dr. Balan enters my life He said that a Cat-scan that was performed showed that I have a rare type of Cancer known as NLPHL Lymphoma. He said that they would need to do surgery to have a port inserted so that I can have chemo for the next few months. At the same time as receiving Chemo I am also left with an open wound from the biopsy they did in the area on my left leg that started this all. I have a visiting nurse 3 times a week to care for my wound and keep me from losing my leg. After 4 months we are starting to see some progress with the wound, because of the cancer and diabetes healing is very slow for me. I took in a roommate in November to share with the bills as I was not able to work the way I use to. That roommate went missing 5 weeks ago and all there life belongings sit in my house. I decided on the 3rd week he was missing to file a missing persons report and until today he has still not been found and I fear the worst. My Mental health is starting to fail do to the long time of Isolation because of Covid-19. I am currently in the hospital once again because my white Blood count is to low for them to send me home. I am hoping I get to go home soon. Bills are pilling up and increased expenses from things not covered by my HMO are now more than I can handle while I am sick, tired and alone. I hope you read this and can help in some way. I never thought in my life time I would need to do something like this. Thank you in advance if you are able to help,
