Help Herb and Loyda Wilson After the Eaton Fire in Altadena

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Community,

We're Ashley and Amber, and we're reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Our parents, Herb and Loyda Wilson, tragically lost their beloved Altadena home of 20 years in the recent Eaton Fire. They were away when the fire struck, leaving them unable to save even the most basic essentials – from birth certificates to their cars, and their cherished family mementos.

For two decades, their home was more than just a house – it was the heart of our family's gatherings. It held the echoes of three generations celebrating holidays together, the joy of countless birthday parties, and the pride of graduation celebrations. Our dad Herb, pictured below, was known throughout the neighborhood for his legendary BBQs, where he'd fire up his three grills and bring the community together over good food and better company.

The loss extends beyond the physical structure. Every room held irreplaceable memories: photos of their firstborn grandson, family heirlooms passed down through generations, the ring of laughter from games of dominoes extending late into the night. Their beloved dog Rosie (pictured below) is safe with them, but has lost her familiar surroundings just as they have.

They will need to start completely from scratch – from everyday necessities like clothing and toiletries to the basics of creating a new home: pots, pans, furniture, and all the small things we take for granted. Your support, no matter the amount, will help them tremendously.

Here's how your donation will help:

  • Immediate needs: clothing, toiletries, and daily essentials
  • Basic household items: kitchenware, bedding, furniture
  • Long-term assistance: replacing marriage and birth certificates, etc.

We're deeply grateful for any support you can offer – whether it's a donation, sharing this campaign, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts. Herb and Loyda have touched many lives through their warmth and generosity over the years. Now, we're hoping to rally the community around them in their time of need.

With heartfelt thanks,
Ashley, Amber, Yinka (Amber's husband), and Adeyinka (Herb & Loyda's grandson)
