Teresa M. Deciantis, 45, of Black River, NY, passed away on January 23, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital after a courageous battle with lung and heart disease.
Born on December 9, 1979, in Providence, Rhode Island, Teresa was the daughter of John Deciantis and Brenda Burt. She married Herminio Hernandez Buso on June 16, 2010, in Rhode Island. Herminio served in the United States Army and retired after years of dedicated service. The couple settled in Black River, NY, following his retirement at Fort Drum.
Teresa worked part-time at Walmart in Evans Mills until she became fully disabled. She was a vibrant and adventurous soul who enjoyed coloring, listening to 70s and 80s music, and spending time outdoors. She loved going to the beach, traveling, and taking long drives. Above all, she cherished time with her family and her beloved dogs, Tuckah and Khaleesi, and watched her favorite comedian, GooseWayne as well as played her virtual slot machine games whenever she had the chance.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Herminio Hernandez Buso; her son, William Gaudet and his fiance, Adriana of Black River, NY; and her granddaughter, Harper Gaudet, of Rhode Island. She is also survived by her sister, Rachel Deciantis, of Watertown, NY, and her parents, John Deciantis, of Bellingham, Massachusetts and Brenda Burt, of North Providence, Rhode Island.
Per Teresa’s wishes, she will be cremated. Donations in her memory may be made to her husband Herminio to help him with funeral costs
