Help Hiroko's Family Achieve Medical Excellence

皆さん初めまして。

日本人の平山浩子と申します。

（ごめんなさい、大学、病院の希望で夫、大学、病院名前を書けません）

脳外科医の夫が米国有名大学で研究留学して一年経ちます。また春から小児に特化した病院での臨床フェローを２年間するチャンスを得ていました。

日本では米国、韓国、中国では20年ほど遅れている、まだ症例報告がない二分脊椎症の内視鏡手術を学べるチャンスがあります。子宮を取り出して生まれてくる前の胎児に内視鏡でアプローチし、腰にある病変を治療します。

日本では年間300例ほどある症例です。

米国の大きな病院では生まれた後に手術をするよりも、明らかに赤ちゃんとそのご家族のより良い生活をしていけるための治療法とされています。

しかし問題が出てきました。

今のJ1VISA期限があと1か月と迫っているなかで、州の医師免許申請に一年ほどかかりそうと連絡がありました。

J1VISAのスポンサー変更をどうにか

他の大学にお願いし研究しながら待つことが出来そうです。ただ無給です。

夫は小児医療に進むことで日本の病院からの奨学金ローンが先月の1月分でストップになりました。米国の物価も日本の4.5倍、日本円も弱いです。

夫はそれでも諦めたくないと米国に残ることを決意しました。

どうにか今ある資金でホームステイをしながら、また住むところの治安が悪く子どもたちを公立の幼稚園小学校には行かせられないので、ホームスクールをしながら、節約して暮らしていくことを考えています。

私は、保育士、植物療法士です。

J2VISA労働許可が降りたら、私も家計を助けるために在宅ワークで働きます。

夫の日本の病院で経験した症例で筆頭論文が評判良く、ヨーロッパ学会での講演の依頼、欧州出版社から出版依頼も2社連絡がきています。そのうちの1社をぜひ出版していけたらと思っています。

米国有名病院でキャタバーダイセクションへの参加もさせてあげたいです。

Nice to meet you all. My name is Hiroko Hirayama, and I am Japanese.

My husband, a neurosurgeon, has been a researcher at a prestigious U.S. university for a year now. He also had the chance to do a two-year clinical fellowship at a hospital specializing in pediatrics starting in the spring.

He would have the chance to learn endoscopic surgery for spina bifida, a condition for which there are still no case reports in Japan, about 20 years behind the United States, Korea, and China.

However, a problem has come up. With my husband's J1 VISA about to expire in a month, we were informed that it will take about a year to apply for a state medical license. He will not be able to work as a clinician right away.

He will be able to wait while he extends his VISA and does research. However, he is unpaid.

My husband was opposed to going into pediatric medicine and his scholarship loan from a Japanese hospital was stopped last month in January.

My husband still does not want to give up and has decided to stay in the U.S. to challenge himself for a chance to learn pediatric neurosurgical medicine.

We are thinking of somehow calling for savings and support from our family, doing a homestay, and saving to survive.

I am a childcare worker and phytotherapist. Once my J2 VISA is granted, I will work to help my family. It just takes more than 3 months to get a work permit.

My husband has one first paper on a case he experienced at a hospital in Japan, but it was well received and he has been asked to give a lecture at a European conference and has been contacted by a European publisher for publication. We cannot afford the publication costs.

In addition, the cost of attending a cadaveric dissection course at a prestigious hospital in the U.S., conference participation fees, and travel expenses are also putting pressure on our family finances.

Please help my husband become a neurosurgeon who can help children in Japan and patients around the world, so that he can have a fulfilling experience in the U.S. and be able to buy our children a few sweets and ice cream.
