Help Hithaishi Fight Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Baby Hithaishi has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-1 at an age when she should be making childhood memories.

Instead Baby Hithaishi been in excruciating pain due to her illness, difficulty sitting up, unable to rollover and even facing difficulty to consume much needed food.

SMA Type-1 is the most severe type and a condition that requires immediate and specialized treatment.

Treatment for SMA Type-1 is ZOLGENSMA which comes at high cost of 16 Crore Indian Rupees (about £1.6million/$2.1 million). For more information, kindly refer to medical reports and doctor's message down below.

My daughter Hithaishi's birth brought me great joy. My happiness knew no bounds when the nurse handed over my child to me. The entire world stopped at that moment, and nothing else mattered except my daughter. Hithaishi is so cute that I couldn’t help but shower her with love and kisses.

My heart broke the day I learned that my daughter is suffering from SMA Type-1. It is a potentially fatal condition that begins at a very young age and causes the spinal muscle to deteriorate over time, making the child unable to bear weight on her feet.

I am watching Hithaishi struggle to move her legs. It brings tears to my eyes to watch my daughter in such a situation. She is only a mere baby. Every day, I pray for her well-being. I come from a modest middle-class household. I've spent practically all of our money on her treatment.

Hithaishi has everything, from loving parents to a plethora of toys. But none of this compares to what she truly requires: freedom from a fatal disease that is determined to take her life. After SMA Type-1 took her basic abilities to sit, crawl, walk, eat, and breathe, all that remains is her cute little life. The miraculous drug Zolgensma, which has the potential to save her life, costs Rs 16 crore (Indian Rupees). Will you help my little munchkin make it with your support?

Little did I know about the dread that would come knocking on our doors and plague our days with sorrow. As of now her treatment and medications are continuing. Her physiotherapy is also ongoing to help strengthen her bones and muscles.
