Help Hollow Gain Freedom & Safety

Hi everyone, my name’s Damien and I’m a transgender person living in Maine. I’ve lived here all my life and could not imagine living anywhere else.

My partner, Hollow, is from Illinois. Their home situation is far from ideal. Their parents are incredibly controlling of them despite their age, 20. It’s the kind of control where Hollow can not do anything without their permission, and their parents track their phone. This is highly inappropriate, and there’s more to it that we can not get into, but they need to get out of there as soon as possible.

If Hollow were to tell their parents they’re moving out, it would NOT go well. They would likely be forced to stay/have their electronics taken away. So, what we have to do is slowly start mailing important belongings to me so when the time comes when there’s an opening to leave, we can buy Hollow a plane ticket and get them to Maine. This also means they will be leaving a LOT behind.

They are incredibly passionate when it comes to their major– they have a focus in entomology, and are so incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to scientific topics. It amazes me constantly, because if you were to ask them almost any question in regards to bugs and arachnids, they could answer you easily.

My situation is relatively better than Hollow’s. Currently I am attending college, but with how this may play out, I may have to take time from college to focus on working. I have a debt or two I need to pay off (school and tax related). While it’s unfortunate, I’d rather focus on providing for my partner and saving for our own place. I want to get them out of that home situation as soon as possible.

With that being said, any little bit helps. Here is the breakdown for costs:

$200: Costs for mailing important belongings and packing materials.

$35: To order new copies of any important documents left behind.

$750: Uber & Lyft Fees/Plane Ticket/Luggage Fees

$300: Replace any important necessities left behind/buy new clothes.

This adds up to $1,285, though for the sake of convenience, it's been rounded up to the nearest hundred.
